OUR GIRLS’ BATHROOM: SIMPLE DECOR IDEAS

I am a girl mum in and out! I really don’t know how to be anything else. I can learn but I am not trying. One of my favourite things about being Mama Girls is spotting nice and pretty things for Malope and Lyna. I see them even when I am not looking and especially when they are not on my shopping list ?

Our toddler daughters share a bedroom. They also share a bathroom. I decided to pay attention to making it not just functional for their age but also inviting to make bathtime something to look forward to.

Their bathroom ended up with a flowers and butterflies theme which really wasn’t intended.  It just fell into place.

For instance I needed to get additional hooks for the bathroom wall and I found these pretty flower hooks at Carrefour. I bought two baby pink ones. The suction didn’t stick on to the wall too well and I was a little disappointed until I had a light bulb moment about hanging then onto the shower cubicle rod for decor. They looked so pretty?? I went back and got a few more to hang. The girls love the idea of the hooked flowers and I do too?

I got the flower and butterfly themed toilet seat from House of Leather (Panari). It’s made of waterproof material (the kind that raincoats are  made of. It’s comfortable to sit on and gets warmed up by body temperature the moment you sit on it… bliss! The hot pink and white accessories including floor mats and storage boxes tie up nicely.

Before becoming a mum I vowed never to fall for the ‘pink’ is for girls mantra. If I got daughters, I was going to steer clear of pink??. Now that we have our girls, they have decided to love pink and it is what it is! Let the girls decide?

I hope this inspires you to decorate and that it reminds you that it can be minimal and doesn’t  have to be expensive.
