This black pair of suede and patent leather with not so high heels are my current most comfy office shoes ? But even these come with limitations…let me explain.
Any working lady knows the mind games that come into play when deciding what to wear to work the night before and how shoes are key in this decision and how you will probably decide to wear something else by morning… because…shoes?
Let’s use these current favourite shoes of mine as an example…
I don’t wear them with fitted trousers because I think they will look awkward?. Even though I know they may feel fine for someone else. They work well with my pencil skirts or dresses but not my fit and flare office dresses (i think?)
So on any work day, when deciding what shoes to wear, I think through what my schedule is likely to be like… Do I have any meetings or assignments away from my desk that mean I have to walk around a lot? Do I have a presentation to make? Is wearing my office flats an option? (God bless those office flats we all have under our desks for saving our feet from total destruction caused by those cute but uncomfortable shoes we still want to wear to work?), will I be going anywhere after work? In which case do I need to carry an extra pair of shoes or do I just make sure my work outfit and after office outfit can work with the same pair of shoes? (this one needs extra years of experience?) etc
I try extra hard to make sure that each pair of office shoes I buy can work with different outfits. But I kid you not, I have office shoes that I cannot wear with more than one outfit and most of the time it is an outfit that one barely ever wears.
All said, every professional woman knows the power of good office shoes. The confidence, poise and boss lady attitude that they bring is CV content??
